I am a research scientist at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the Entertainment Intelligence Lab where I research the novel application of stories to reinforcement learning. Specifically I am researching how stories can be used to train reinforcement learning agents to exhibit believable behaviors.
On a general level, I am interested in studying how different types of human behavior and decision making data can be used to enhance AI systems. In recent years, AI systems have become commonplace in our everyday lives. In order to improve these systems, they must have a greater understanding of human behavior, decision making, preferences, etc. In this era of Big Data humans are producing information than ever before, providing a wealth of information that can be used to imbue these systems with that understanding.
